2006 Kitchen Project
January 15th - Here is the kitchen before we started. We
planned on replacing the cabinets, countertop, oven, and dish washer.
February 15th - Removing the old countertop and cabinets. The drywall
behind the cabinets was not painted and some of it was in bad shape.
February 18th - Friedl fixed the drywall for us and moved a light
switch on the fridge side,
February 20th - The new cabinets are larger so we had to remove tiles, cut the floor molding, and then lay down plywood to make the floor somewhat flat. Lori laid down new tile.
February 21st - New tiles being installed.
February 24th - Starting to install new cabinets. The
plumbing for the sink also needed to be redone since the new sink cabinet
has a base and a backing, whereas the old sink cabinet did not have a
base.
Switched moved.
Using laser level.
The pets enjoyed the renovation - especially the cat who loved all the boxes.
February 25th - Sink base, dish washer and plumbing installed. We chose maple wood cabinetry with a honey stain.
February 26th - Fridge side cabinets installed.
March 2nd - Fridge side tiles completed and oven installed.
March 4th - Cabinets installed!
March 6th - Countertop being measured.
March 12th - Eating area painted, and door knobs installed.
March 27th - Countertop installed. We chose a Silestone Quartz countertop in 'Absolute Green'.
