This web page is hosted on a Redhat 7.3 machine named Cybrina and is using apache 2.0.48 with FrontPage extensions, and php. The internet connection is provided by Earthlink DSL at a connection speed of 384bits/second down, and 128kbits up to you. Basically it can support about three 56k modems downloading at once (not much bandwidth). The IP address assigned from Earthlink is dynamic, but by using http://www.dyndns.org and a client program (ddclient on the Redhat machine), a DNS entry (cybrina.mine.nu, nickers.mine.nu, joeo.mine.nu, and joelori.mine.nu) is automatically updated whenever the IP address is re-assigned by Earthlink. The 'network' consists of a DSL modem attached to a Netgear router which does NAT (network address translation). The router is then attached to a PC and to Cybrina. The IP address will only be re-assigned by Earthlink in the case where the router or DSL modem looses power, or has its' configuration changed (usually the router) and hence requires a reboot. The router handles PPPOE to Earthlink and port forwarding. The Netgear router also updates dyndns.org, but only the address cybrina.mine.nu. Once Cybrina has booted, it automatically updates nickers.mine.nu, joelori.mine.nu, and joeo.mine.nu.
FrontPage is used to construct the site. All images should be jpeg compressed to a reasonable size for speedy downloads.
Cybrina's web server statistics are updated once every
10 minutes. The report is generated from apache's access_log file
using a program called analog and
webanalyzer. The SNMP agent, Net-SNMP version
5.0.6, is running on Cybrina and MRTG is called once every 5 minutes
to update the traffic statistics.

Update:
This site is now hosted from acehost.net. Cybrina is still up and running,
but is now an AMD1800 machine with 1GB of memory. It mirrors most of
the contest at lovehorsepower.com, and provides searching capability.
It is currently running Fedora Core 4. This site has been redesigned
using Dreamweaver as of February 22nd 2006.
